The Stromford
Hole Description
As always the opening tee-shot is very important. With Stromford Brook running in front of the tees, out of bounds to the right and trees to the left, a tee shot slightly right of centre would be preferable. This will give you a clear line into the green and a chance of a nice par four to begin with.

Hill Top
Hole Description
Beware of the two hidden bunkers starting at 230 yards from the white tee which have a tendency to catch any ball drifting to the right. The second shot will contend with Stromford Brook again and need to carry to an elevated green. Always plays longer than the yardage suggests.

Long
Hole Description
The hardest hole on the course and as the name suggests, it lends itself to the capabilities of the big hitters. A good drive down the right side of the fairway is essential if you want any chance of a clear shot to the challenging two tier green with your second. Many would be happy to walk away with a bogey on this hole.

Short Leg
Hole Description
Redesigned in the winter of 2012/13, this tree lined par three is an attractive hole surrounded by three new bunkers that are just waiting to grab any ball that strays left or right. A generously sized green can lead to a long putt if you you don't make the right club selection off the tee.

Pines
Hole Description
Try not to be intimidated by the rushing waters of the River Mersey and out of bound to the right of the tee and don't be tempted to compensate too much, as bunkers are waiting on the left just for good measure. This is one of the widest fairways on the course and any ball that hits it should have a straight forward shot into the green.

Merseyside
Hole Description
Just because you can't see or hear it, don't forget that the River and OOB are lurking over the hedge on the right. If you can get a ball away to the left hand side of the fairway you will have a clear line into the green which is well protected by bunkers at the front left and right and OOB behind.

Traps
Hole Description
As the name suggests, two strategically placed fairway bunkers can catch you out here. From the tee they look the same size, however the one on the left is smaller, closer and easier to get out of. With the green sloping front to back, be careful with your club selection for your shot in.

The Burn
Hole Description
Not unheard of for the big hitters to try and carry the 270 yards to the green, but Stromford Brook returns to catch out those miss hit or over ambitious attempts. A mid iron from the tee should leave a nice short iron or wedge into the most undulating green on the course.

Hole Description
As the easiest hole on the course, a ball on the fairway will leave a shot into the elevated green where the church spire in the background will act as a pretty good guide to the hole.

Hill Top
Hole Description
The tee is set further back and to the right second time round. This in turn brings the fairway bunker much more into play even for a good shot off the tee. The second shot will contend with Stromford Brook again and need to carry to an elevated green. Always plays longer than the yardage suggests.

Longer
Hole Description
Longer, but now a par five. With the tee set 60 yards back, a good drive avoiding the mature trees on the right hand side will set you up for your second shot. Keep to the right of the fairway to avoid having to contend with the old oak and bunker with your shot into the challenging two tier green.

Hole Description
With its elevated tee being set back 215 yards it's not surprising that some heavy artillery comes out on the tee when faced with a head wind. Redesigned in the winter of 2012/13, this tree lined par three is an attractive hole surrounded by three new bunkers that are just waiting to grab any ball that strays left or right.
